Nemagari Bamboo is a type of bamboo grass that grows naturally in the snowy mountains of Japan. The weight of deep snow causes the stems to bend as they grow, giving this bamboo its name. Among bamboo grass used for basketry, it is especially strong, producing baskets and strainers with a firm, well-defined shape.
