possess these skills has dramatically decreased—\u003cbr\u003eonly a few remain today.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis handled, legged kakukago has actually been recreated as a revival piece.\u003cbr\u003eThere was a time when baskets of this form were widely made on Sado Island in Niigata Prefecture,\u003cbr\u003ebut unfortunately, they are no longer produced there.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSeveral old baskets remained in our shop, so we asked a craftsman in Ibaraki to recreate them.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the photo, the basket on the left is from Sado,\u003cbr\u003eand the one on the right was recreated by the craftsman in Ibaraki.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cfigure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"\u003e\u003cimg on the project.\u003cbr\u003eFor that reason, the finishing details differ slightly from those of the Sado-made basket.\u003cbr\u003eRather than a direct reproduction,\u003cbr\u003eit may be closer to
